In the global fashion health food list, avocados are in hot demand. According to Itz Cohen, chief executive of the Israel Fruit Manufacturers Association, the Israeli avocado supply season is underway and the 2016 market conditions are very good. Global demand for avocados is rising every year, and Israeli production is in short supply.

     According to Cohn, in 2015, the export volume of Israeli avocados was 60,000 tons. This year the Israeli Agriculture International Portal announced that the output of avocados will be close to 100,000 tons, of which 70% will be supplied to the export market. Israel's export market for avocados includes France, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries, and Russia.
 

     Israeli avocados have an important share in the European market. Geographical position is an important advantage. The European market can be reached by refrigerated containers within four or five days of shipping. Its competitors need ten days and two weeks.
